    Wellll. .

Fujitsu have come through, I hated the idea of giving up my s300M as it is the best portable scanner I ever had. Fujitsu released a patch for Snow-Leopard.
    [. . . ]

Again. . . the S300M is a lovely scanner, highly recommended, it is the most complete portable scanner anywhere. (particularly now that the patch is released. )

    My original post were:

My lovely S300m – (which is highly recommended IF you intend to never upgrade your mac. ) have stopped working, or rather the supplied software do not work. Fujitsu have not yet addressed the issue and basically the scanned is useless, I purchased a different brand for the office.

Sorry to say Fujitsu have dropped the ball on this one, all their scanners are bricked at the moment. Do not buy this until they release new software.

High quality product. My only gripe, if I had to name one . . . is that, while the software is good overall . . it could be more feature rich. Having said that . . it proves to be worth the money.

I was slightly baffled by the installation process and upgrades, but once I got everything installed it all worked fine. This is definitely a great portable device, but if you’re planning on using this mainly in one location, I would look elsewhere.

I’m spoiled. I am a Mac owner and have been since 1985. Needless to say, I have become accustomed to plugging whatever into a mac and have it work. While I may have to load up application software for a given peripheral, I don’t hunt around for drivers and whatnot.

This brings me to the S300M. Out of the box to scanning documents within 10 minutes. Perfect scans with no tweaking. This is how it should be.

The only problem I’ve had so far is whatever scheme Fujitsu uses, I can only get the scanner to work on one of my Macs. I tried to get the scanner to work with my home office Mac, but it tells me the scanner isn’t authorized to work with that computer.

    Otherwise, great.

    Pros: Works. Always.
Cons: Expensive, software not very polished, multi-machine use issues.

This little scanner is exactly what I’ve been wanting for years. Something that will scan basically anything, easy and fast to use and doesn’t take up half your desk. I definitely recommend this scanner if you’re trying to go paperless and just want something that works.
